Since 2022, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in generating images and conversations has become increasingly popular. New AI-image generators such as Midjouney and DALL-E 2 are posing a challenge to modelling and rendering software such as 3Ds max, V-ray, SketchUp, Lumion, Enscape etc.

Midjourney is among the most popular AI image regenerators out there. It is a research laboratory that seeks to discover new ways of thinking and enhancing the creative abilities of humankind. It first entered open beta on July 12, 2022.
Steps to set up Midjourney for Visualization
- Join the #Newbies channel on the Midjourney Discord server.
- In the #Newbies channel, type the command “/imagine” followed by a description of the image you want to generate.
- Wait for the bot to generate the requested image. It may take a few moments for the image to appear in the channel.
- Once the image appears in the channel, you can use the (V) and (U) keys to view variations of the image or zoom in on it, respectively.
These images are created using words typed into a chat just like you would do with any messaging app. The precision of the outcome (image) is dependent on your ability to adequately describe the image you desire.
